The practice nurses may be seen by appointment. They run clinics for patients with asthma, diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease, childhood immunisations, smoking cessation and follow-up clinics for patients on HRT or contraception. They perform cervical cytology and swabs, ear syringing and wound/ulcer dressings. If you think that your problem could be dealt with by the nurse, please ask the receptionist to make an appointment.
The Healthcare Assistant takes blood samples and performs other tests such as ECGs and blood pressure checks, Pill checks, new patient health checks and simple dressings. Blood tests can only be done before 11.30am in order that the samples may reach the laboratory the same day.

Psychology and Counselling Services offers confidential counselling for stress, anxiety and depression, or other areas which your doctor feels appropriate.
Alcohol and Drugs Counsellor offers confidential counselling regarding substance misuse.
Adult Social Care can help with social problems. They include the Home Care Organiser and Social Workers.
